Objective: Create a vintage-style boxing poster, with an appearance of a distressed/faded texture. Use home-brew textures to create the feel of the poster. Learn about typing on paths.
About my Poster: I began with a mood board which can be found here. I used that board to decide on the style of the poster, including color themes, layout, and, most especially, typography. I liked popout fonts for this project, as it tends to align with the theme of not only the type of poster, but also the content of the poster. For my combatants, I selected Mats Valk and Feliks Zemdegs, who are two of the best and most well-known Rubik’s Cube speedsolvers. Zemdegs has held many records of various competitive solving events, and Valk holds the current 3×3 Single world record. Some see the two as rivals, including Ian Scheffler, author of the first book about competitive cubing, Cracking the Cube. I decided to use the intersecting lines to represent that they are at odds with each other. In all, I’m very happy with this poster.
